Mayor Clair Donnelly
Having lived in Maize for 36 years, I have served on the Planning Commission, ten years on the City Council, and four years as Mayor. Currently, as Mayor for the City of Maize, I am proud to have had a part in establishing a water system for the city, establishing a Recreation Commission and bringing WSU West Campus to Maize. This next year will see more goals accomplished, such as Sedgwick County Fire Department and EMS locating in Maize as well as the opening of a new city government complex. Some of my goals as a mayor for the future would be to see more parks and playground equipment in the city, a water park and a skateboard park in the old Chilton field area.
On a personal note, I retired from Raytheon Aircraft Company after seventeen years of service and currently work for Adventure RV and Truck Center, working in the parts department. Oba, my wife of 54 years and I have three children Teresa, Sherri and Ron. I have seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two children Sherri and Ron and two grandchildren Renata and Eric Spear have graduated from Maize High School.
